Non-surgical
Kybella
San Francisco Kybella
The double chin…it is one of the biggest problem areas for so many patients. In the past, anyone who wanted to get rid of the excess fat in their chin and add more definition to their neck had to have some sort of surgical procedure, either liposuction or a neck lift. Now, however, there is a truly effective non-surgical treatment that removes that stubborn pocket of fat under the chin — Kybella.*
Kybella is the first FDA approved injectable specifically designed to eliminate submental fat under the chin.* It’s fast and relatively painless. If you have fat which you can pinch and pull under your chin, then you might be a great candidate for Kybella. Dr. David Sieber has advanced training in injectables, and even trains other surgeons. He brings this expertise to every patient that he sees. Kybella can be performed alone or in conjunction with other non-surgical treatments such as fillers, neurotoxins, and laser skin resurfacing.
Kybella Technique
Dr. Sieber will first place a grid pattern onto your treatment area to act as a guide for your Kybella injections. He will then apply ice, and depending on your pain tolerance, you may be given some ibuprofen prior to the treatment. The Kybella will then be strategically injected with a needle in order to deliver the contour that you desire. Most patients will require anywhere from 2-4 treatments, spaced 30 days apart, in order to achieve their final results.*

Recovery from Kybella
Immediately after your Kybella procedure, you may experience some numbness, burning, redness, and swelling. Your swelling will get worse during the first 24 hours after treatment, and you can expect to remain swollen for at least 48-72 hours. Some patients, especially during their first treatment, may experience severe swelling. With each additional treatment, however, your swelling should diminish. You can return to your regular activities immediately after your Kybella procedure although it may take from 4-8 weeks for all swelling to subside and for you to see you final results.*
Kybella Frequently Asked Questions
How does Kybella work?
Kybella is composed of a substance called deoxycholic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. When injected around fat cells, Kybella disrupts the cellular membrane, destroying these cells and preventing them from storing or accumulating fat.
How long will my result last?
Because Kybella destroys unwanted fat cells, you should not require any additional treatments once your ideal neckline has been achieved.*
How will I know how many treatments I will require?
All patients react differently to Kybella so it’s difficult to say exactly how many treatments it will take. In the Kybella studies performed, most patients required 2-4 treatments.* During your consultation, Dr. Sieber will be able to give you a more accurate estimate once he’s examined you in person and assessed the amount of fat that needs to be removed in order to achieve your goals.
